We express our gratitude to God Almighty for the
completion of this book, “Civil Law,” as an academic
contribution to enriching the treasury of legal knowledge in
Indonesia. This book serves as a comprehensive reference that
deeply discusses the principles, structure, and implementation of civil law within the national legal system, while also addressing the challenges of civil justice practice amidst the dynamics of modern society. This book was compiled by a team of authors with diverse
academic and practical backgrounds, enabling it to present a
broad and balanced perspective. Each chapter is designed to
provide a solid theoretical understanding, enriched by
empirical analysis, comparisons across legal systems, and
discussions of recent cases. Topics such as freedom of contract,
